Senator Warner Demands Gabbard Testify Before Intelligence Committee Over Georgia Raid
Senator Mark Warner (D-VA), Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, called on DNI Tulsi Gabbard to testify in person before the committee about her presence at the FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections Hub and her arranging a phone call between President Trump and the FBI agents. Warner stated: 'Let's be clear: It is inappropriate for a sitting president to personally involve himself in a criminal investigation tied to an election he lost.' Warner's communications director said Gabbard's letter attempting to justify her presence 'raises more questions than it answers.' Warner was especially concerned that Gabbard facilitated the Trump-FBI call after the search warrant was executed. In a joint letter with Rep. Jim Himes (D-CT), ranking Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, they wrote: 'It is also deeply concerning that you participated in this domestic law enforcement action.' Warner also noted Trump's recent suggestion that Republicans should 'take over' and 'nationalize' elections, stating this 'makes clear that this threat to our election security, the basic premise of our democracy, is forward looking to 2026 into 2028.'
