Fulton County Announces Lawsuit Against FBI Over Ballot Seizure
Fulton County Commissioner Marvin Arrington Jr. announced the county will file a federal lawsuit challenging the legality of the FBI's search warrant and the seizure of 700 boxes of election records from the 2020 presidential election. The lawsuit will seek to force the federal government to return the ballots taken. Arrington said he believed the FBI was authorized to access and make copies of the information, but not to physically seize and remove original ballots. Fulton County Board of Commissioners Chairman Robb Pitts stated: 'Every audit, every recount, every court ruling has confirmed what we the people of Fulton County already knew: Our elections were fair and accurate and every legal vote was counted.' County officials accused the White House of political retribution, noting this raid follows years of Trump's unsubstantiated fraud claims about Fulton County. The ACLU and ACLU of Georgia issued statements responding to the raid, raising concerns about voter privacy and election integrity.
