Trump Media pitches $100,000-a-month Wall Street fee for early access to Trump's posts

Trump Media & Technology Group, in which President Trump holds a financial stake through the Donald J. Trump Revocable Trust, pitched Wall Street trading firms a $100,000-a-month fee (roughly $60,000 monthly under a three-year contract) for millisecond-early access to posts from Truth Social's ten most-followed accounts, including Trump's own, according to Financial Times and CNBC reporting published July 18-19, 2026. The "Truth API" service, planned for an August 1 launch, would let paying subscribers trade ahead of the public on posts that have repeatedly moved markets on tariffs, trade policy and military action. The pricing followed Trump Media's July 17 announcement of the service, which had not previously disclosed a fee structure. Government-ethics expert Kathleen Clark called the arrangement "brazen corruption, an improper exploitation of government power to enrich himself," and Democratic Senators Ron Wyden and Elizabeth Warren said the plan would enrich Wall Street traders and the Trump family from information about the president's own official conduct. Sitting presidents are exempt from the conflict-of-interest statutes that would otherwise restrict such an arrangement.
