Trump threatens to destroy Iran's electric generating plants and oil infrastructure in prime-time address
During his April 1 prime-time address on Operation Epic Fury, Trump explicitly threatened to target civilian infrastructure if Iran doesn't make a deal, stating the U.S. could 'hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously.' He also threatened to strike Iranian oil industry targets. International law experts and the Geneva Conventions (Article 54, Additional Protocol I) classify infrastructure indispensable to civilian survival--including power and water systems--as protected objects. Targeting them constitutes a war crime under international humanitarian law.
"But if no deal is made, we have our eyes on key targets. We could hit each and every one of their electric generating plants very hard and probably simultaneously."
