Protests spread to 20+ cities nationwide following Minneapolis ICE shooting

Following the fatal ICE shooting of Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis, protests erupted across the country. Demonstrators gathered in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Colorado Springs, Columbus, Detroit, Duluth, Eugene, Grand Rapids, Miami, New York City, Oakland, Portland (OR), Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Richmond, Seattle, San Antonio, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington D.C. In Rochester, NY, hundreds of demonstrators lined Pattonwood Drive near the U.S. Customs and Border Protection station. The protests represented the largest spontaneous nationwide mobilization against ICE since the Trump administration began its expanded deportation operations. Protesters demanded accountability for Good's death and an end to the Minneapolis enforcement surge. The rapid spread of protests came as Vice President Vance called Good's death 'a tragedy of her own making' and the Trump administration doubled down on false claims that she had tried to run over an officer.
