Rep. Ilhan Omar and Congressional Tri-Caucus condemn ICE shooting as 'unconscionable'
Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) issued a statement calling ICE's actions 'unconscionable and reprehensible,' saying she was 'beyond outraged that their reckless, callous actions led to the killing of a legal observer in Minneapolis.' She added that her 'heart breaks for the victim's family, who will have to forever live with the pain caused by the Trump Administration's reckless and deadly actions.' Omar directly challenged the administration's narrative on X: 'You're lying. There was no attempt to run the officer over and no ICE agents appear to be hurt. Get out of our city.' Omar also released a joint statement with the Congressional Tri-Caucus (Congressional Hispanic Caucus, Congressional Black Caucus, Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus) stating they were 'deeply saddened and outraged by the deadly ICE shooting' and that 'Renee Nicole Good should be alive today.' The Congressional Hispanic Caucus called the shooting 'the direct result of the Trump administration's reckless policy of violent overreach against immigrants and the American citizens who surround them.'
