Supreme Court Rules Against Trump in National Guard Case, Rejecting 'Rebellion' Claim

The Supreme Court ruled against Trump in the National Guard deployment case, one of only a handful of 'emergency docket' cases in which the conservative court ruled against Trump since his second term began. Two lower courts had found that protests in the Chicago area did not constitute a 'rebellion or danger of rebellion' that would authorize the president to deploy the National Guard. The ruling represented a rare judicial check on Trump's expansive claims of presidential authority to use military force domestically for immigration enforcement.
