Trump nominates Kash Patel, 'enemies list' author, as FBI Director

Trump announced he would nominate Kash Patel to replace FBI Director Christopher Wray. Patel, a former congressional staffer and DOD official, has called for purging the FBI of Trump critics and published a book with an 'enemies list' of government officials to target. He has promoted debunked conspiracy theories about the Russia investigation and pledged to shutter FBI headquarters. Current FBI Director Wray was appointed by Trump but fell out of favor after refusing to support election fraud claims.
