Colorado Supreme Court rules Trump ineligible for ballot under 14th Amendment insurrection clause
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Trump was disqualified from the state's 2024 primary ballot under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which bars those who 'engaged in insurrection' from holding office. The court found Trump's actions leading up to and on Jan. 6 constituted engagement in insurrection. The ruling was stayed pending appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court, which would ultimately reverse it in March 2024.
