Sidney Powell pleads guilty in Georgia case, agrees to testify against Trump
Attorney Sidney Powell, a key architect of Trump's "Kraken" election fraud lawsuits, pleaded guilty to six misdemeanor charges in Georgia's RICO case one day before her trial was set to begin. Under the plea agreement, Powell received six years' probation, a $6,000 fine, $2,700 in restitution to the Georgia Secretary of State's office, and crucially, agreed to "testify truthfully" in all related proceedings. Powell's guilty plea made her the second co-defendant to flip after bail bondsman Scott Hall. Her admission of guilt directly contradicted her previous claims of massive election fraud and validated prosecutors' allegations about the conspiracy to breach Coffee County's voting systems. The NYT noted Powell was "a member of the Trump legal team in 2020" who would now "cooperate with prosecutors seeking to convict the former president." Her flip came as a major blow to Trump's defense strategy.
