Calls AG Letitia James 'racist in reverse' and Georgia DA 'racist' in same speech

In the same April 4 Mar-a-Lago speech, Trump described New York Attorney General Letitia James, who is Black and was pursuing a civil fraud investigation against him, as "another racist in reverse," and characterized Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is also Black and was investigating his post-2020-election phone call to Georgia officials, as "a local racist democrat district attorney in Atlanta." Both officials had active, unrelated investigations of Trump underway at the time. Commentators, including at The Bulwark and Forbes, described the remarks as part of a documented pattern in which Trump applied racialized language to Black law-enforcement officials investigating him, a pattern he had separately applied to Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. James later described similar Trump comments about her as "race-baiting."

“This time it's civil investigation by another racist in reverse who also campaigned on, 'I will get Trump, I will get him.'” Quote verified against source
