Twitter's new owner Elon Musk reinstated Trump's @realDonaldTrump account after running an online poll asking users whether the former president should be allowed back on the platform. The move reversed the permanent ban imposed after the January 6 attack and once again gave Trump a direct megaphone to tens of millions of followers, even as he claimed he would stay on his own Truth Social platform.
