Returns to DC with false crime claims, proposes 'tent cities' for homeless

Speaking in Washington DC for the first time since leaving office, Trump addressed the America First Policy Institute summit with inflammatory claims about crime and controversial policy proposals. He falsely claimed "murder in our country is up 51%" and argued "our country has been brought to its knees" under Democratic leadership. Trump proposed aggressive policing including stop-and-frisk policies, death penalty for drug traffickers, and relocating homeless populations to "tent cities" with medical facilities on city outskirts. He hinted at a 2024 run, saying "When a Republican president takes back the White House in 2024, which I strongly believe will happen, there's a tremendous amount to be done." Trump made minimal reference to January 6 despite ongoing committee hearings. The speech demonstrated his continued reliance on fear-mongering, false statistics, and dehumanizing policy proposals.
