Threatens executive privilege fight over Jan. 6 committee records request
After the House January 6 Committee issued its first sweeping demand for records from the National Archives and other agencies, Trump signaled he would fight the release on executive privilege grounds. "Executive privilege will be defended, not just on behalf of my Administration and the Patriots who worked beside me, but on behalf of the Office of the President of the United States," he said in a statement, setting the stage for a legal battle to hide his actions on January 6.
