Trump mocks Warren as 'Pocahontas,' claims she cost Sanders nomination by dropping out 'THREE DAYS TOO LATE'

Following Elizabeth Warren's withdrawal from the Democratic primary race, President Trump attacked her on Twitter using the racial slur 'Pocahontas' and claimed she dropped out 'THREE DAYS TOO LATE,' costing Bernie Sanders victories in Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Texas. Trump also told reporters that sexism wasn't to blame for Warren's campaign failure, instead calling her 'a very mean person' with a 'tremendous lack of talent.' He suggested Warren was 'very selfish' for staying in the race and that her exit would have changed the outcome if it had come earlier. The attacks combined racial mockery (a slur condemned repeatedly by Native American groups since 2017), gender-based insults, and interference commentary in the Democratic primary process. This continued Trump's years-long pattern of using the 'Pocahontas' slur against the Massachusetts senator.

"Elizabeth 'Pocahontas' Warren, who was going nowhere except into Mini Mike's head, just dropped out of the Democrat Primary... THREE DAYS TOO LATE. She cost Crazy Bernie, at least, Massachusetts, Minnesota and Texas." — Posted on Twitter following Warren's campaign suspension announcement on March 5, 2020, three days after Super Tuesday primaries
