Mueller letter reveals frustration with Barr's spin on report

Special Counsel Robert Mueller's March 27 letter to Attorney General William Barr was publicly revealed, expressing deep concern that Barr's four-page summary of the Mueller Report 'did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this Office's work and conclusions' and created 'public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation.' Mueller wrote that the redacted report should have been released immediately to provide full context. Barr had characterized Mueller's findings as clearing Trump of obstruction, when Mueller had explicitly declined to make that determination. Barr later dismissed Mueller's letter as 'snitty' and suggested it was written by 'staff people,' further minimizing Mueller's concerns. The revelation confirmed that Barr had deliberately misled the public about Mueller's findings to protect Trump.
