Attacks the late John McCain in weekend tweets with false claims about the dossier
Over the weekend of March 16-17, 2019, roughly seven months after Senator John McCain's death, Trump launched a barrage of tweets attacking him. He quoted a description of McCain's handling of the Steele dossier as 'a very dark stain against John McCain' and added that McCain 'had far worse stains than this, including thumbs down on repeal and replace.' On March 17 he wrote that 'last in his class (Annapolis) John McCain' sent the 'Fake Dossier' to the FBI and media 'hoping to have it printed BEFORE the Election.' McCain graduated fifth from the bottom, not last, and did not receive the dossier until after the 2016 election, delivering it to the FBI in December 2016. The attacks preceded and set up his March 20 tank-plant speech grievance about McCain.
"So it was indeed (just proven in court papers) “last in his class” (Annapolis) John McCain that sent the Fake Dossier to the FBI and Media hoping to have it printed BEFORE the Election. He & the Dems, working together, failed (as usual). Even the Fake News refused this garbage!" Quote verified against source
