Cohen testifies Trump is 'con man,' 'racist,' 'cheat'
Michael Cohen, Trump's former personal lawyer and fixer, testified before the House Oversight Committee in explosive public testimony. Cohen called Trump "a racist," "a con man," and "a cheat," and detailed Trump's involvement in criminal schemes. He presented a $35,000 check that Trump personally signed from his personal bank account on August 1, 2017—while president—as one of 11 installments paid throughout the year as part of a scheme to violate campaign finance laws by reimbursing Cohen for hush money payments to Stormy Daniels. Cohen testified that Trump knew in advance about WikiLeaks releasing hacked Democratic emails and regularly inflated his assets to banks while deflating them to tax authorities. Trump was meeting with North Korea's Kim Jong Un during Cohen's testimony.
