Falsely claims former presidents privately backed his border wall

In a Rose Garden exchange on day 14 of the shutdown, Trump told reporters that “some of them have told me that we should have done it” when asked if past presidents supported his border wall — a fabrication every living former president promptly rejected, with spokespeople for Carter, Clinton, Bush and Obama saying they never spoke to him about a wall and do not support it.
