In morning tweets, Trump rejected the official estimate of roughly 3,000 deaths from Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, alleging without evidence that Democrats invented the toll "to make me look as bad as possible." He dismissed the George Washington University study that counted excess deaths and minimized the administration’s failed response.
