Comey testifies Trump lied about FBI and demanded loyalty

Fired FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee that Trump lied about the FBI being in disarray and about Comey's firing. Comey detailed how Trump demanded personal loyalty in a one-on-one dinner, asked him to "let Flynn go," and pressured him to publicly state Trump wasn't under investigation. Comey said he felt compelled to document his conversations with Trump because he feared Trump would lie about them. Comey called the administration's explanations for his firing "lies, plain and simple." The testimony provided evidence of potential obstruction of justice and showed Trump treating the FBI director as a personal attorney rather than an independent law enforcement official.
