Officially signs lease to redevelop Old Post Office into luxury hotel

The General Services Administration (GSA) and the Trump Organization officially signed the 60-year lease to redevelop the historic Old Post Office building in Washington, D.C., into a Trump International Hotel. This deal cemented Trump's physical presence on Pennsylvania Avenue and would later become a focal point for emoluments clause lawsuits and conflict-of-interest controversies during his presidency.
