Trump allies launch ShouldTrumpRun.com with Cohen and pharmaceutical billionaire funding
A website encouraging Donald Trump to run for president in 2012, ShouldTrumpRun.com, was revealed to be funded by Michael Cohen (Trump's future personal attorney), pharmaceutical billionaire Stewart Rahr (who had recently received a $1.3 billion payout from Cardinal Health), and lobbyists Bradley Gerstman and David Schwartz of Gotham Government Relations. The site's mission stated 'We need to convince Donald Trump to run for President in 2012 and end all of the old rhetoric occurring in Washington.' Rahr told Page Six in November he was backing Trump 'as serious as I get.' The organized effort demonstrated Trump's presidential ambitions were gaining infrastructure and financial support from wealthy allies, including the man who would later become his notorious fixer.
